City Livin'

I wanted to show off the apartment a little bit as it is now: 2 months lived-in, about 90% put together, cluttered as hell, and my sanctuary. It's not perfect, but what is? I don't care if your home looks like it was ripped out of a Martha Stewart-y blog, because if you're not comfortable in it, you should change it immediately. Get comfortable and fuck what other people think about how it looks or feels or what the layout is.

Have I ever mentioned that we don't have a dishwasher? We don't have a dishwasher. Or any space to wash and dry dishes, for that matter, but we make do. See all the dishes drying? 3 days worth, only! The downside of being committed to making meals at home instead of buying them pre-prepared is LOTS AND LOTS OF DISHES.

The table looks so messy because it is covered in drying dishes. So little space, so...little space. This bookshelf houses about 1/5 of my entire book collection, most of which is in storage. I need another bookshelf, or three. Note the sweet little kitty dishes, the beautiful Audubon prints, the cherry blossom lights, and the pumpkin spice Febreze (which you should all buy because it's the only Febreze I really do love).

The area above the blue chopping station. The photography is mine (see? I told you I was okay at photography, but this blog's pictures could not be used as evidence!).

The kitchen-side of the living room, complete with strangely patterned couch and a sleepy Ghost.

The other side of the living room, and the chair I'm sitting in as I type this. The box in front of the cabinet is for Ghost to play with. She loves curling up in it, so I just can't bring myself to recycle it even though it's an eyesore. Next to it is the "That 70's Show" box set, an orange cat bat with a bell in it, some cat grass, and a scratching pad. Ghost is so spoiled.

None of the bedroom yet, because it is a mess and a very sleepy man is in there napping before he has to go to work.
